2023 was a year of transformation and resilience for me. After the sudden loss of my Mum in 2022, my partner’s heart attack, and saying goodbye to our beloved Jack Russell—all within six months—I leaned on my knowledge of Restorative Yoga to navigate emotional stress and grief.

Our Wedding and Two Amazing Honeymoons
In June, we celebrated with a beautiful wedding and two unforgettable honeymoons.
First, we explored the serene landscapes of Pembrokeshire, Wales, followed by an adventurous month-long trip to Costa Rica in December.
In Costa Rica, we hired a car and travelled along the Pacific coast, immersing ourselves in the vibrant jungle. Each day brought incredible experiences—being woken by howler monkeys, swimming in waterfalls with spider monkeys above, and hummingbirds outside our room.
Rediscovering the Festival Spirit
In August, I attended my first four-day festival in nearly 20 years. Initially nervous about whether I had the stamina, I was reminded by a friend when I was saying ‘back in the day that “this is the day”—a l reminder to live in the moment. The festival was so much fun that we’ve already booked for this year!
Giving Back with Ayurvedic Face-Lift Massage
In September, I was honoured to offer Ayurvedic Face-Lift Massages at a local charity festival for Arms Around The Child, a global organization supporting children living in extreme adversity.
I offer Ayurvedic Face-Lift Massage in my studio in Portsmouth, a treatment designed to prevent and reverse physical signs of aging while relaxing and rejuvenating the mind and body. It’s a deeply restorative experience that leaves you feeling younger, healthier, and more vital.

The Healing Power of Nature and Grounding
Working outdoors at the festival reminded me of the powerful connection between nature and well-being. Being grounded to the Earth—known as Earthing—has been scientifically proven to reduce inflammation, pain, and stress while improving energy, blood flow, and sleep.
Looking Ahead: Carpe Diem in 2024
As I turn 60 years young, I’m inspired by the lessons of 2023 to make 2024 just as exciting and fulfilling. Whether through teaching yoga, creating new memories, or exploring nature, I’m committed to living life fully.
