Yoga Teacher, Sound Energy Practitioner & Natural Ayurvedic face lift massage therapist.
About me
In 2004, I completed my Hatha Yoga teacher training with the Kevala Centre and embarked on teaching classes in the Portsmouth area.
During 2017 I was looking for something more to offer, as I was beginning to experience the symptoms of peri- menopause and then menopause. Not only was I beginning to experience anxiety but it was impacting my sleep & then I was also diagnosed with arthritis in my hips and feet.
Although I knew that Hatha Yoga was a fantastic practise that allowed me to keep my flexibility I also felt I needed to find a practise that supported me through this stage in my life. That was more relaxing on the body and mind and therefore the nervous system.
During this time, I discovered Restorative Yoga and instantly recognised that this was a powerful and deeply healing practise, that supported me to manage my symptoms of anxiety & sleepless nights and aches and pains.
So, In February 2018 I attended 50-hour teacher training course in Restorative Yoga with Deborah Berryman a student of Judith Lasater .
I feel so grateful that I am able to share the practice of Restorative Yoga with its incredible benefits to my students and 1:1 clients as well as alongside my classes in Hatha Yoga, using my knowledge of both practices to support my students.
I soon realised that my main aim was to support women with managing stress, anxiety and self-care, so in 2021 I studied and successfully completed my Ayurvedic Face Lift Massage training with Mind-Body Medical.
Ayurveda rejuvenates the body, and Yoga deals with the purification of the mind. So I felt that together they both complemented and embraced each other. Then in 2023 I successfully completed training as a sound energy practitioner, to offer Vibroacoustic Massage with Tibetan singing bowls with the Blissful Bowl Lady at Soul Soothing Bowls.
This is a deeply healing treatment that brings calm and relaxation to the mind and body. It can help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, bringing mental clarity. It can also help to manage pain and improve sleep. Later that year I completed a sound bath orchestration training to be able to offer sound immersion alongside my restorative yoga classes and restorative yoga treatments.
I love to share my training, knowledge & experiences of the Mind & Body connection to support my students & clients to manage their wellness holistically as is possible.
